The general goals of international relations of Shiraz University are as follows:

A) Collaboration with universities and institutions of higher education at the international level with the following objectives:

Making the most of the scientific reserves and educational-research experiences of foreign universities

Accelerating the creation of new degree programs and increasing the admission capacity of students in graduate programs

Increasing the research capacity of the university

Creating an exchange of knowledge and experience between Shiraz University and foreign universities

Implementing joint study programs

Collaboration and implementation of joint educational/research projects

Implementing short-term specialized courses

Teacher and student exchange

Exchange of educational/research periodicals and journals with foreign universities

B) Liaison with international associations and unions

 Associations and organizations such as the International Union of Universities of the World (IAU), the Union of Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFP), and the European Union International Joint Scientific Cooperation ( Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus Plus and H2020)

C) Supporting the international scope of the university with the following objectives:

Advertising Shiraz University to promote collaboration and communication between the University and foreign universities and higher education institutions

Advertising the scientific-research capabilities of the university

Recruiting foreign students to continue education in Shiraz University

Development of Persian language curricula and recruiting those interested in learning Persian language and literature

Recruiting scholarship students from neighboring countries

Laying the groundwork for joint research

Providing professors with the necessary grounds for sabbatical leaves, delivering lectures, workshops and scientific visits

D) Recruiting foreign students and Iranians living abroad in short-term and long-term courses as well as distance education with the following objectives:

Promotion of Islamic-Iranian culture and civilization

Promotion of Persian language and literature

Establishing a solid relationship between Shiraz University and other universities

Attracting external fund for the university

Teaching the ancient history and languages of Iran to the second generation of Iranians living abroad
