The Faculty of Arts and Architecture, with the collaboration of the Scientific Association of Carpets, attempted to organize a seminar with professors from Marmara University as key speakers. Methods of technical analysis and aesthetics of handmade carpets and natural dyeing in Turkey and the reasons leading to the success of the International Dabbagh Project were the main topics of discussion.
Dr. Sharif, Dean of the School of Architecture, pointed out the different fields of art in Iran and stated that the Persian carpet is considered an art form which is very much intertwined with our daily life. Other officials from the Shiraz University School of Architecture also gave a report on the situation of carpets as an Iranian art and urged the need for a close collaboration with foreign academic institutions to preserve this art for future generations.
There were also negotiations between the officials of the two universities to strengthen mutual ties with mobility programs such as exchange of students and joint projects. In this regard, a MoU was planned to be signed by both universities, in the hope of expanding the art of Persian carpets universally and uniting universities with trade for this purpose.
